Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS)
The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services investigates reports of abuse or neglect against health care providers, care givers in adult family homes and treatment centers, mental health providers, and many other licensed professionals.
If a DSHS investigator returns a “founded” finding against any provider – based on a standard of “more likely than not” that the incident occurred – then that provider’s license can be suspended immediately by many state agencies. If you hold a professional license under any agency of Washington state, and you are contacted by a DSHS investigator, an attorney can protect your rights and help you avoid losing your license. Don’t wait until your license is suspended before you ask for help.
